Former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno is hitting Nashville Feb 8th. He'll be busting out tons of Maiden classics from the first few Maiden albums. Also appearing will be Icarus Witch, Noisecult, Piranah. It is an all ages show.
Where: Limelight, 201 Woodland St. Nashville TN 615.780.3099
When: Monday Feb 8th
How much: $15 advance, $18 door. Advance tickets have not extra cost..they are straight
up $15.
How to buy advance tix: www.limelightnashville.com click on Di'Anno banner.
Time: doors at 6pm. show starts at 7pm. Di'Anno around 9:30
Parking: free near venue. located next to Titan's Stadium.
Why go....Di'Anno kicks ass on those early Maiden albums like Killers, Maiden Japan, and the self titled debut. He hasn't been here in over 15 years and who knows if he'll be back, don't miss a great night of classic British metal...

Got a quick show report and setlist for ya...It was a fun show and for 54 years old he did alright Live. He has a fucked up knee so he isn't doing any crazy running around but he was into the show despite the snow, him being worn out and a small crowd. On some songs his voice sounded pretty close to what you would expect to hear live. He had the traditional Di'Anno rasp and bellowing high notes, which Is why I liked him better then Bruce as far as Iron Maiden goes. His back up band was Icarus Witch who are an Iron Maiden sounding power metal band out of Pittsburgh. They did a great job recreating the feel of the Maiden and other Di'Anno songs. Except the Drummer....this dude was blitzing through the first handful of songs so fast that at one point Di'Anno stopped singing a verse (in Murders In The Rue Morgue) cause he couldn't spit the words out fast enough. it was a bit annoying watching that, and at one point Drummer dude completely lost his place in Phantom of The opera, stopped for a second to figure out where the song was..sad. To the credit of the rest of the band they kept playing and manged to bring him back inline.
Being the first time back in the US in about 20 years he told me he was happy to get the dates but the booking agent kept slamming days in on what was suppose to be their off days. He was trying to go along with it since he was just now finally getting his visa to tour here again. With that said he seemed a bit beat up from the previous few weeks in the snow...which decided to pound Nashville for the three hours the show was starting and essentially killed what was expected to be a fairly good turnout. When all said and done we had about 70 people there...He was also cool enough to hang out late to sign shit and take pictures for the 20 or so people who hung out waiting for him.
SETLIST:
1. Wrathchild
2. Prowler
3. Marshall Lockjaw
4. Murders In The Rue Morgue
5. The Beast Arises
6. Children of Madness
7. Faith Healer
8. A Song For You
9. Ides Of March / Killers
10.Phantom Of The Opera
11.Running Free
Encore:
13.Transylvania
14.Iron Maiden (Thought it was an odd choice, but he told the crowd it was the first song he'd ever written for Maiden 30 years ago. decided to put it in the set)
would have liked to see Remember Tomorrow, Innocent Exile, Another Life or Sanctuary in there but I never figured I'd see him live at all so can't really complain
