i don't know of anything and i've never really booked shows. i've just heard nothing but horror stories from that place.

I don't live in the Nashville Area (I'm near Springfield) but reading this, the four big venues are The End, The Muse, Rocketown, and Exit/In.

The venue has nothing to do with the band. If the band rocks it's ass off the venue will mean nothing. This is one of the problems I have with paying music. You have to first...Have a GREAT band and then you worry about the venue. If you are worthy of headlining the EXIT/IN believe me they will come calling. Musicians...Don't blame the venue...blame YOURSELF for people not showing up. Believe me if your band is GREAT people will start showing up for shows. Believe me with the internet and kids being kids..they will spread the word about your band
Re: Leeches of Lore (NM) @ Loudhouse Coffee 8/9
In the business of show I think people need to put them self out there a little more, especially in times like this. That said, Music city could use a cool place to watch a show or two but I bet the economy hampers that too.
Re: Leeches of Lore (NM) @ Loudhouse Coffee 8/9
We headlined the End, and they cut our set short, kept interrupting us, switched our entire show around, annnnnnnd only paid us 11 dollars.....on tour.
Overall experience D-, But I believe that we played a good set. Ask Wak, he was there.

ahhh the End .. my worst problem with that place is the 6pm-11pm wait at the Goldrush that always gets me shitfaced before we ever played there .. but Ive also experienced the getting cut off and interrupted
and I dont think we've ever made money there, unless we sold merch .. but we didnt bring a huge crowd either .. so you really cant complain about it unless you do

Re: Leeches of Lore (NM) @ Loudhouse Coffee 8/9
We didnt bring in just a huge crowd, but I bet we brought in at least 12-15 people just to see us, which I dont think is too bad for an out of town show. I just felt sorta disrespected after leaving there.
Re: Leeches of Lore (NM) @ Loudhouse Coffee 8/9
damn, yeah that sucks ..
at least an even 20 bucks would have been better .. but 11?

The End was fucking great when Brad ran sound and Stacy was on the door. Since we haven't had many good shows there.
I can recall a few paydays (Ramones show, first couple Hoots etc). Can't complain too much, they have to pay the light bill on the joint..

that's true to an extent... but in any shitty bumfuck town someone can be working at a coffee shop and tell his boss "hey we should have shows here!" and then anytime someone is booking a tour on the internet the employee can say "we have a venue". the touring band doesn't know this place from adam, so when they show up thinking its the center of the nashville sci-fi/metal/surf/punk scene and not even the employee who wanted show there in the first place shows up, you CAN blame the venue!
besides look what i did was a great band, but not good enough to draw the 250+ people that would show up at the next generation every time they would play. that place was just in the right location (and time period) for everyone from nashville, everyone from franklin, everyone from murfreesboro and everyone from mt juliet to come watch shows every weekend.

we don't even get weird coffee shops. One of my friends went to a show in a pizza shop not to long ago in San Diego... I wish we had more weird here.

There was a pizza place in Joelton that did shows. I can't remember the name of the place but I've played there a couple of times. Crowd was always decent and you played on the floor. Beer was cheap. It was a lot of fun! I think they went under a few years back.

^HIJACKED THREAD! Good work fellas, but go support these guys, being a touring band can suck when you aren't making any fucking money. I think we all agree there.
