The Basement and other venues
So can somebody give me some info on "The Basement". My main question is do the bands have to be 21+ or just the attendees. My band is 18, 18, and 25 would that fly? Also is it a good place to play. I'm trying to a place for a new band to play on tour on a thursday night and make about 40 bucks. Any suggestions from you Nashville veteran?

Re: The Basement and other venues
The Basement is nice. But to me, it just seems like anything other than an acoustic act, or a blues trio or something like that just doesn't go well in that room. Don't know anything about the age requirements of the band.
Re: The Basement and other venues
My wife and I finally made it to the Basement back on the 5th. Didn't really like the place, bad vibe. And as far as I know they pretty much won't let anybody under 21 set foot in the door, but don't hold me to that.

The Basement is 21+ and hard to get into for new bands, from my experience
Springwater 21+
The Muse is your best bet for trying to play or book shows, but unless you get people to come out, your not even going to get 40 .. unless Logan is in a good mood and having a good month, then he could possibly be generous enough to give a touring band money anyways
I wouldnt even try Exit In .. except they do a free tuesday night thing during the summer I think, that they add newer local bands to
and the End does do the New Band Wed. or some shit, just go give Bruce a CD and your contact info one night .. but be prepared to possibly play at 12am to noone .. booking there for unheard of out of town bands is pretty much impossible though, unless your know to bring a crowd out yourself (to the End)
The Little Hamilton Collective seems to be doing good, although Ive never been or booked there
there are also tons of other venues and bars, but these are the only ones I really deal with
