Where's all the Metal Heads?
So why haven't we gotten any of the old crowd from Nashvillerock.net? Are their forums still up? They stayed pretty busy for a bit and then it slowed down. If ant of you head bangin fools is on here, speak up.
Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
I don't think too many people know this site has incorporated metal as well. Add that to the fact that as Nashvillerock was dying out, there were only a handful of people even on the boards anymore. The site is up and running but I don't think there is anyone really left from a few years ago. I kind of stopped going when it became a political free for all...I got enough shit pissing me off without jumping into those kind of online battles...
I only get on here once in a while myself just due to no time really. But I will be happy to spread the word again about the site. It would be cool to have more metal news here as well and I am sure the traffic would help the webpage.

Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
I sent out a couple messages to some of the metal bands in town today. Let's see what happens.
Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
and I must say...that is one band that after listening to. I feel like I have done something wrong, I feel like I need a bath and I turn on the lights before I enter the room. Pure fucking metal. I would never book a show with them because I KNOW that I could never follow THAT! That is what it takes for me to listen to a metal band.

Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
I love the Melvins (insert Mike Sims grimace here... ) but there is a ton of Stoner rock type sludge out there that doesn't rip off the Melvins to obvious...Clutch, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, COC, Kyuss, Electric Wizard, Early Man, Orange Goblin, some of the more known Stoner rock bands that have that feel of stoner rock but don't sound like the others. but Like Nasty said it all can go back to Sabbath....High on Fire is pretty bad ass. New Album out this week. I'd like to try to get them back to Nashville.
Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
oh i agree, i am a sabbath (and melvins and some stoner metal for that matter) fan to. but most of the new stoner metal sounds like the melvins when they were doing they're best to sound like sabbath. melvins had alot of other stuff that was more experimental too. and while we're at it gogol bordello sounds like the count's songs from sesame street.

(i know i posted this before, but i hate gogol bordello)

Re: Where's all the Metal Heads?
oh man Wak I am with you Bordelo is terrible. I am sure there are people on here who dig them but damn that is painful to watch. I had to work a show with them at Bonnaroo where they did the overnight jam session. They did two+ hours of mainly Tom Waits songs with Guest Les Claypool (spelling) from Primus. all this while being so far out of tune from each other plus interpreted in their Russian folk style...after the first hour I wanted to kill myself..
what is funny is les brings up Kirk from metallica and once he is up there he looked completely lost as to what to play and what the Fuck was going on....I will say this the singer of Bordelo was going nuts the whole time dancing around and climbing into the crowd. that was the most entertaining part of their show...
