DO YOU WANT TO PLAY LIKE A ROCK/METAL GUITAR GOD? GUITAR LESSONS!
If so, I can help you! I offer private lessons in the comfort of your own home. My schedule is very flexible, and I can travel pretty much anywhere in the general Nashville area. Complete beginners are welcome as well as any other players who have perhaps been playing a while but are looking to improve their chops, learn to better understand harmony and theory, etc. All ages and experience levels welcome. Even if you're not into rock/metal at all(which are very broad terms as it is) I believe that it's definitely good for any guitarist to be able to "shred" a bit, it's good for your overall technique and speed on the instrument. Develop flawless technique and jaw dropping speeds, learn to shred like legendary electric guitar virtuosos such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio, Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Doug Aldrich, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, etc.
Some techniques taught are alternate picking, economy picking, legato, string skipping licks, fretboard tapping, sweep arpeggios, string skipping tapped licks, and many many other variations of these techniques as well as others. This stuff is for players that at least already have lead guitar basics down, but I can teach you the very basics as well if you're a beginner. I teach you not only how to get fast, but more importantly, how to develop a very clean technique so that you can hear every note of your fast playing, and not just a jumbled mess of distorted noise like most other "shredders" out there. I don't just teach you licks either, I teach you how to apply them. I help you to develop a sense of melody, which will help you tremendously both in your lead skills and your overall songwriting skills. I also teach theory, various scales, chord construction/chord formulas, the diatonic modes, etc. I know how to explain theory in a very simple, easy to understand manner, unlike most other teachers. I supply your study materials at no extra cost. I've taught many in the past and have many references. You WILL make progress with me and improve both your playing and writing skills, guaranteed. Here's what just a few others have said:
"Richard is one of the most talented young guitarists I've ever met." (Patrick O'hearn - Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Group 87)
"Richard is a talented guitarist... more importantly, he is a patient and thorough teacher. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants guitar chops!" (David Franey - Former student)
"You make it look so easy!" (Cliff Cross - Former student)
If interested, you can reach me at 615-887-7075 which is my cell number, 615-353-5762 which is my home number, or you can just respond to my e-mail address, which is ralanoor629@aol.com. Thanks

When all this was transpiring I wasn't necessarily as horrified as McNasty about it, but I did have similar misgivings about the reception the guy got. Now, Wak may also have a point: since he hasn't, apparently, been back, we don't know whether he was a one-time ad-dropper or a potential member of the community who said "what the fuck" and took off. Personally, I wish I had the time and money to get a few guitar lessons, maybe from this guy, maybe not. But the comments about everybody here already being great, etc., were so over-the-top that even a socially backward guy like me was able to deduce that they weren't coming from a sincere place. Can't say about the original poster though.
There really wasn't much point to what I've just said.
