The death wave rides again
I have committed to play with mike, spooks and the boys again. This time it will work. I am so honored to finally be a part of this band. Nashville look out because this will be a great fucking band. I think I have finally found people on the same page as me and I am truly honored.
Re: The death wave rides again
for some reason, this didnt show up on my unread posts list. let me know when ya'll want to run through the songs. good luck. i should be good this weekend if you are.
Re: The death wave rides again
Me and mike are getting together tomorrow. That should be enough, but your always welcome by me dude. I'm sure they all feel the same. I'm even thinking of going 5150 just to keep the sound. Do 5150's run at 50 watts?
Re: The death wave rides again
i've heard you can run without either the 2 inside power tubes or 2 outside power tubes for half power, but i haven't tried it. lower wattage only benefits you if you want more break-up but dont have a master volume (or 5 preamp tubes!!), so you don't need to run at 50 watts with a 5150...
I recommend just turning the preamp down as you turn the power amp down and you can keep a decent volume to distortion ratio almost down to practice amp levels. but remember the lower the volume, the higher the distortion. i played in RDW with the pre amp gain (distortion) at about 2 or 2.5. and the power amp level (post gain/volume) at about 3-4 for practice 6-8 for venues that don't mic the amp. you can actually push the speakers in your cab with the post gain(power amp) on 0, but it will sound super distorted and the volume will be at practice amp levels.
the 5150 is an incredible amp for the price. i joke about it, but it really is in my opinion the best and most versitile amp for the money. it gets alot of recognition for metal because of the 5 preamp tubes(giving ALOT of distortion), but it has so much control you can use it for anything.

Re: The death wave rides again
As much as I'm gonna miss playin on stage with Wak, I'm psyched as hell about this. Been a long time since myself and Mr. Rawles have gotten to share a stage. Nash Bash will be the big unveiling. So everyone needs to come out.

Huh? never mind I'll just stick with a 50w marshall half stack...wakmaster wrote:i've heard you can run without either the 2 inside power tubes or 2 outside power tubes for half power, but i haven't tried it. lower wattage only benefits you if you want more break-up but dont have a master volume (or 5 preamp tubes!!), so you don't need to run at 50 watts with a 5150...

Got called in to work this morning at about 5am after drinking 16 beers and staying up until 3am listening to Radio death wave. THAT FUCKING SUCKED! Had to miss a practice I have been waiting for all fucking week. I still think the whole RDW thing is going to be better than great. Can't wait till june cause we will fucking bring the punk rock!
Re: The death wave rides again
Me, Spooks and Donnie ended up working on a couple new songs. Looks like we're gonna have two new good ones. Don't worry about gettin called in. It happens.

Re: The death wave rides again
Just wait til June 26th KD. Its gonna kick ass. Got some new songs in the works and Chris and Ian lock in great on the guitars.
Re: The death wave rides again
You can feel the positive vibes in the room when playing with these guys. It's an easy environment to work in. Can't wait till I get my marshall and get to really start writing and bringing my own voice to the songs. I love writing new songs and I think these guys are very open minded to playing well written classic punk tunes. Plus having a solid drummer really helps. Donnie is just so easy to jam with. None of the bullshit that usually goes along with killer drummers. I am going to throw the fuck down! No holds barred. I will bring it!Mike_Sims wrote:Just wait til June 26th KD. Its gonna kick ass. Re: The death wave rides again
just a heads up, if donnie suggests something silly for the whole band to do or wear, he will NOT do or wear it!

Re: The death wave rides again
He's talking about Halloween. He suggested that we all dress up like zombie killers for the Hootenanny/zombie walk.
Re: The death wave rides again
and we did. most of us. he said hes done that to other bands before. and also get spooks to show you the time bomb 77 band pic in the cd case.
Re: The death wave rides again
Donnie is one cool dude.. His drumming makes my job easy. Can't wait to be able to bring some of my songs into the band.
