The Demise Of Radio Death Wave Empty The Demise Of Radio Death Wave

Post  Mike_Sims Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:25 pm

Well, as much as we hate to say it. And just when it seems we've got a damn near perfect lineup, we have to call it quits. Ian has been trying to find a new job and has had to resort to going back out on the road as a truck driver. Which means he'll be in town very seldom and almost never during the week. Which means no practices for him and maybe a show once every two to three months. We just don't feel that things would be the same with anyone else up there with us, so we're calling it quits for now. We're not blaming Ian for this, we blame the economy and the oh so awesome stimulus program that hasn't worked enough to get people's jobs back. Wink Its been fun this go around and we wish that it could last longer but it just wasn't meant to be. The only show we will be able to play will be the one on Dec. 5th at The Basement. So everyone come out and party with us one last time.

Makes me wish I could hit the powerball when its up to 200,000,000 and just pay everyone to do nothing but practice, play and tour.

It's sad but also good that you have been able to come to an agreement on what you feel benefits your band the most at this time. You will get back together...

Why'd I give him his Les Paul back if he was just going to go back on the road? Smile

I think I only got to see you guys about four times. Speaking for myself, I always had a good time when you guys played. Not only did I enjoy the hell out of the songs that you played ... but damn if you didn't play the hell out of them every time. Ya'll were the johnniest punk rawkin'est band in Nashville. Best of luck to everyone else in their future endeavors ... especially Ian, because I personally know how much it SUCKS to have to go back out over the road in a truck. Constantly passing through the world and not really feeling like you're a part of it.

Thanks for all the kind words. Hopefully, this will be short lived. I personally can't keep taking a year or two off. Each time I do that, my fingers get a little less nimble and its harder to jump off the drum riser. Laughing Everyone keep your fingers crossed, and don't write us off completely.

Radio Death Wave put on a good show every time I saw you guys play. I was looking forward to seeing you all play at the Muse on the 24th. But you have to do what it take to survive and lately you have to hold on to about any job you can get. Good luck to Ian, I hope the job works out..at least until he can find a more enjoyable one. i hope to see you all play together in the near future.
